Gang Land, Evolving band of warriors AI funnies

Hey, I have been working on the AI still for my gang war game. It is getting done nicely so far. I did have a funny thing happen when putting in the use of knives for the enemy gang members. I put what I thought was all the correct code in and started to play. I created my new gang and started the beginning fight for power. I was hoping to charge the enemy and see that they used knives in close combat instead of shooting like they were before.

So I started out and spread my guys along all three fronts and started to march forward to the enemy. I began to see lots of blood gathering on the ground from the back line where all the enemy started. I then saw that the enemy was rampaging with knives every turn stabbing at anything close by. It was kinda funny to see them slaughter themselves then open fire on my guys with machinguns when nobody else was nearby.

Needless to say I fixed that and now they only stab bad guys. Just was a funny product of leaving out three lines of code in my AI system.

Gang Land, Gets some AI

I have been working on the AI some and have a bit working for the game. It is addictive to have the enemy advance toward your guys on the screen and turn by turn close in and open fire. It seems to be taking shape.

The only bad thing I am running into is that I am finding a lot of new problems that I need to fix while plugging in the AI. I left some holes in my plan where I forgot about certain things, so this means a delay in production. It sucks yes, but all in all it is fun to develop.

It does feel good to start up the game and actually create a gang and do a battle and see that it is actually a game I have been developing and not just a spiffy graphical menu system. I cannot wait to get the battle systems bugs worked out and then get into the XP system and the injuries for the evolving group of warriors that is your gang.

The game is coming along nice and looks to still come out sometime this fall. Looking good so far.

Digg Bans Me, for posting too much stuff

I used Digg a lot, I used it to promote web content I liked and created. I got good feedback from other digg users and helped digg with thier User created conent. Yesterday I was banned, with no reason, from Digg.com.

I have officially found that Digg is controlling what content is placed on their site by controlling who is posting on their site. I have officially emailed them and informed them that I will be creating my own service on the net that is truly what I thought Digg was. This is both frustrating and inspiring. I really do not believe in people who treat people as mere pawns to make money and guide society the way they feel it should go, especially when you advertise as purely user created content.
